  Being right next to the Straight of Georgia, Shady Rest captures the feeling of Vancouver Island. The restaurant​ has a solid menu, a friendly staff and is well priced. I highly recommend Shady Rest.

  Food was good. The basic burger price was $14. By the time they add toppings it was $20, which I thought was too high. Over the years i have found they have very good experienced waitresses, however the one that we had was rough around the edges. Great placevhowever, my rating is lower than usual for the shady based on cost and waitress experience.

  Tremendous view, great view of the ocean. Food not the standard. Firstly, appetizers was cold, specifically the nachos; the melted cheese has gone. The main dishes were unappetizing, we ordered the shrimp melt and the oceanview burger, both dishes smelt funny and tasted weird, all in all, the manager took off half price of the shrimp melt and the burger off completely. Is it worth the visit? Not really, but check out the waterfront for sure!

  It's ok. Didn't particularly like the food but customer service was great and the view is amazing.
